(re)connecting.earth is part of the art-werk association, based in Geneva, Switzerland, which is recognized by the State of Geneva as a nonprofit cultural association. As such, art-werk, which organizes the Biennale, the traveling exhibition, and the educational program, is recognized by the Swiss tax authorities.

art-werk and (re)connecting.earth are led by a director who is responsible for the organization’s policies and management. The organization also has a supervisory board tasked with overseeing the director’s action plan and the general activities of the association and its affiliated organizations. The board advises the director. The Supervisory Board of the art-werk association consists of Romain Geiser, Patrick Gosatti (Treasurer), Dr. Christine Nippe (Advisory), Mikaël Ivan Roost (Chair), and Nikos Topulos (Secretary), while Bernard Vienat serves as Director.

The goal is to reshape the relationship between culture and society by studying and catalyzing positive social change in Europe through art, science, and participation in an ongoing dialogue with all involved partners and host cities. By combining interdisciplinarity with a participatory approach, we empower citizens, artistic communities, and cities to rethink the way we live, work, and communicate.
