Maxence Neveu
Maxence Neveu (2000) lives and works in Valais. The artist draws his inspiration from the everyday, from the universal in the intimate, from memory as space, from gestures of care, from self-narration as the power to become, and from the absurdity of the patriarchal world. Their aim is to offer art at your fingertips, something to grasp and take with you, and their practice takes shape between cardboard, sound work, collage, and writing. This work takes the form of an instruction manual for the creation of a sculpture, made up of 3 objects/waste that risk ending up in our ecosystem. The artist invites us to recover the elements that are to make up this artifact before they end up in the lake, making us both sensitive to the pollution of this space and to the creative potential it conceals.
Fun Fact
According to the World Bank's What a Waste 2.0 report published in 2018, the world currently produces 2.01 billion tons of waste per year. Reinforced by population growth and urbanization in many countries, this number continues to increase year after year.

Litter picking can be a physical activity! The Swedes conceptualized this idea with ‘plogging’. This term is the contraction of ‘plocka upp’ which means ‘to pick up’ in Swedish and jogging. The concept is therefore very simple: it consists of equipping yourself with gloves, a garbage bag and going for a run or a walk. The person will then pick up the garbage and other waste found along their running route. As a workout, this eco-jogging allows you to vary the body's movements by adding bends, squats and stretches to the main action of running.
